The 100 Club ...a taste of racehorse ownership
Always keen to encourage people become involved in horseracing, trainer Andy Crook now offers 'The 100 Club' to those wishing to try "a taste of racehorse ownership"!
The Club has been established to provide horseracing enthusiasts with the excitement and enjoyment of racehorse ownership at an affordable price. Horseracing is no longer the sole preserve of the wealthy - imagine telling your friends & relatives 'your' horse is running and you're off to the racecourse to support it!
The Club′s first horse is GRAND DAY OUT - a 2008 chestnut gelding by BYRON out of MARIA ISABELLA. His name was chosen by Members during their stable visit on Saturday October 1st 2011.
Benefits of Club membership:
• Members-only stable visits to see Grand Day Out at 'home' and watch him train on the Middleham gallops
• Personal contact and regular updates on the horse's progress.
• FREE Owners badges when the Club horse races - giving you access to the Owners & Trainers facilities, the Parade Ring and (hopefully) the Winners Enclosure at the racecourse!
• Meet with Andy in the Parade Ring and discuss race tactics with the jockey.
• A share in any prize money won by the Club′s horse in accordance with the terms and conditions.
• No hidden charges – the membership fee includes all keep, training and racing expenses for the entire membership period with nothing more to pay.
• All of the Club′s management and administrative work will be done on your behalf, leaving you free to enjoy the excitement of horseracing and racehorse ownership.
• The 2012 membership period will run from April 1st until November 10th, the end of the turf Flat season. The fees are £199 for single membership and £299 for Joint Membership (two people living at the same address).

Terms and Conditions of membership of 'The 100 Club'
• The 2008 chestnut gelding by BYRON out of MARIA ISABELLA (named GRAND DAY OUT) will run on behalf of the club and its members but Mr Andrew Crook will retain full ownership rights at all times. • Club membership is not an investment in Ashgill Racing or the Club Horse and should be regarded as an entertainment for personal pleasure rather than a financial investment. • When the Club horse races, members will be asked (via email) whether they wish to attend that particular race. The names of those indicating they do will be drawn out randomly and allocated free owners' badges. Most racecourses offer six badges, some eight. Some courses also allow other badges to be purchased at a reduced cost. To ensure a fair distribution, those who have previously received free badges may not be eligible for subsequent races. • Prize money won by Club Horse (i.e. the net amount paid by Weatherbys after the usual deductions) will be distributed as follows: 20% will be retained by Mr Andrew Crook and the remaining 80% will be distributed equally among members within 30 days of the end of the membership period (therefore by 10th December 2012) and up to a maximum of £199.
• Please note: there is no guarantee of any prize money - this will be dependent upon how the horse performs on the racetrack.
• The Club will begin with the 2008 Chestnut Gelding (GRAND DAY OUT) as the Club Horse but injuries can occur during racing and training. If such an event results in his not being trained or having to be rested for a long period, another horse in full training will run as his replacement on behalf of the Club.
• Club members will be kept up to date on the horse's training progress and racing plans via a Club Members' web page
• All members' rights and privileges cannot be re-offered or assigned, offered or granted as security or passed to any third party.
• All decisions regarding the training, care and racing of the Club's horse and the running of the Club itself will be made by Mr Andrew Crook.
• All members must be 18 years of age or over and agree to and abide by these terms and conditions.
